To Study in Portugal

It is advised to collect detailed information at the local Portuguese Embassy/Consulate on the exact documents required to study in Portugal.

An annual student visa is required to study in Portugal for non-nationals. Student visas may be applied for at the local Portuguese Embassy/Consulate.

Documents required for a student visa application:

• Passport or other travelling document (Expiration date not less than three months later than visa’s)
• Three passport size photos
• Criminal register
• Health insurance certificate
• Lodging certificate in Portugal
• Proof of funds upon arrival in Portugal 
• Academic registration document
• Vaccines bulletin
• Academic qualifications document (certified by the local Portuguese Embassy)

Some municipalities and non-governmental agencies provide lodging aid.
